CORRESPONDENT (interviewer) – Montreal area residents only
Position
As an On-Site, CONFRONT Magazine Correspondent, you will be:
Attending concerts for review throughout the Montreal area
Conducting interviews with international music acts on both indie and mainstream labels
Writing articles, reviews and transcripts to be featured in the pages of CONFRONT Magazine
Skill requirements:
· Ability to work with deadlines
· Communication skills
· Basic knowledge of music and pop culture an asset
· Able to take instruction & criticism with ease; willing to learn
· Organized, and process driven
· Able to multi-task
· Proven display of initiative
· Represent CONFRONT Magazine with integrity, respect and mature judgment
Qualifications:
· Good language skills both written and spoken
· Knowledge of Microsoft Word or equivalent
This is a work experience – apprenticeship and therefore, students 18 years and older are welcome to apply. Please send us an e-mail telling us why you feel you would be a qualified interviewer and/or reviewer as well as any writing samples you feel best represents your style.
The apprenticeship is without monetary remuneration; however, compensation is available in the form of show access, band material etc.
Graphic Design – can work remotely from anywhere
Position:
After spending two year establishing itself as an online publication and building its brand and reputation, CONFRONT is finally ready to start offering ad space on its pages. As a CONFRONT Magazine graphic designer, you will be:
Creating site artwork, including but not limited to, covers, article banners, contest banners etc. as well as ad campaigns for our advertising clients.
Skill requirements:
· Ability to work with deadlines
· Communication skills
· Basic knowledge of music and pop culture
· Able to take instruction & criticism with ease; willing to learn
· Organized, and process driven
· Able to multi-task
· Proven display of initiative
· Represent CONFRONT Magazine with integrity, respect and mature judgment
Qualifications:
· Knowledge of Adobe Photoshop or other similar software
· Understanding of media creation
