Here are the New Releases for the week of April 21st, 2009

‘Yes’ is the tenth studio album by English electronic dance music band Pet Shop Boys.  The album was recorded throughout 2008 and is produced by Brian Higgins and his production team Xenomania. Xenomania also co-wrote three of the tracks. Guitarist Johnny Marr (The Smiths, Modest Mouse, Electronic, The Cribs) and string arranger Owen Pallett (Arcade Fire, The Last Shadow Puppets, Final Fantasy) also appear.  The album was released in the UK on 23 March 2009. The lead single, “Love et.“, was released a week earlier, on 16 March 2009. The U.S. release date is 21 April 2009

Depeche Mode – ‘Sounds of the Universe’

‘Sounds of the Universe’ is the upcoming twelfth full-length album by Depeche Mode, to be released in Europe on April 20th, and on April 21st in the US and Canada. It will be supported by the Tour of the Universe. The album is set to contain 13 tracks, confirmed via the official Depeche Mode website.  According to Andy Fletcher, a lot of extra tracks were recorded which will be on a deluxe version of the album.  Fletcher went on to state that the deluxe version of the album is set to contain new and old demo recordings of Depeche Mode songs, with around 18 songs having been recorded in total.
