interview by Marco Nicolescu

CONFRONT:  Can you give us a brief history of the band; how the band was formed etc.?

RAH RAH:  On the 7th day God rested.  On the 8th day God created Rah Rah, and it was good.  Also, Erin and Marshall hung out one day five years ago and said “let’s play rock and roll” and members have been added ever since.

CONFRONT:  Can you describe what kind of music is at the core of Rah Rah, for those who are unfamiliar with your band.

RAH RAH:  Post folk core.

CONFRONT:  In September of 2008 you released an album called Going Steady.  Can you tell us what listeners can expect from this album, if they haven’t yet heard it?
RAH RAH:  Twelve tracks, many vocalists, violin, accordion, pop rocks, casio.

CONFRONT: You have been touring throughout this past month and will continue to do so during the month of June.  How has the tour been going so far and what is one tour experience you’ll never forget?

RAH RAH:  It has been fun and good. Newfoundland was top notch, especially Cape Spear…  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=259UB2z1wQc

CONFRONT:  What can concert goers expect from a Rah Rahs show?

RAH RAH:  Pyrotechnics, pneumatic-technics, fun upbeat clapping hands, rock and roll music, laughter, dancing, cathartic elation.

CONFRONT:  Other than music, can you give us some examples of what has inspired you as a band?

RAH RAH:  Regina, Star Trek original series, friends, love, life, baseball, crokinole.

CONFRONT:  What’s the main emotion that you try to convey in your songs? Anything specific?

RAH RAH: Deadly.

CONFRONT:  How has the notoriety that inevitably comes with a music career changed your lives?

RAH RAH:  I don’t know about notoriety but it gives us a warm feeling when people come up to us and talk about music…

CONFRONT: Can you give me an example one aspect of the “industry” that you love and an example of one aspect that you dislike.
RAH RAH:  Dislike – the word ‘industry’, Like – getting to play music
