Stereos

The subject then went back to touring because Stefanie wanted to know what their favorite and least favorite things about touring were and Kim wanted to know what they missed most. Being on tour, these guys pretty much live in a bus and since there is no shower or laundry, those were the downsides and things they missed that came up immediately. Aaron also added that being sick on a bus is no fun, which is understandable seeing as you can’t truly rest properly. That was also why Pat missed his bed. Before going into what makes them smile about being on tour, Dan added that he missed their dog in Edmonton as well as Mark Spicoluk.

Despite the downsides however, you could see their eyes brighten up when they talked about what they loved; seeing their friends’ bands play every night and seeing the crowd sing along to their songs are both things that push them to want to do this for the rest of their lives. This also answered Meghan, who asked if they ever take a step back and wonder “what have I gotten myself into?” The answer was a yes, but a positive one. Once again, you could see the sparks in their eyes as we discussed that.

“I think there are times all the time you kind of take a step back and you go ‘what have I gotten myself into?’ But 99% of those times, it’s always a really good feeling. There’s times when I’ll be on my drum kit behind there and I’m just going to see all these kids and like, my four best friends in front of me and I’ll say ‘what did I get myself into?’” Said Aaron as Dan immediately added “I was going to say the same thing. When I look over and I see them onstage and all these kids in front of us, I don’t know, it’s just a funny feeling to see your friends up there.” Pat had the last word as he said that “it’s crazy to see the difference with what people think of [them] and how [they] actually know each other to be. It’s great though.”

Dan drew a ghost but didn’t quite know why. “Maybe it has a little something to do with my personality, I don’t know. Analyze it however you will.” Pat drew himself as a safety for the Cincinnati Bengals because “that’s what [he’d] really like to be doing in life.” He then laughed it off. Aaron drew himself reading a book about wizards. “This is how the band pictures me.” was what he said. When asked if it was a specific famous wizard, he said it was just wizards in general.

As The Envy started their set, I went back out into the crowd to enjoy the show and to let these guys relax a little before hitting the stage. When it was their turn, the crowd went wild and were all singing along with Pat. They put on a great show filled with energy and you could tell their fans absolutely loved it. With three hit singles, a growing fan base, and such charming personalities, Stereos are well on their way to the top.
