When I arrived for The Jezabels show at Le Divan Orange, the small venue was already super crowded! Well it wasn’t a surprise since the show was sold out. I made my way slowly to the front to be able to take some pictures.
I have to admit that I felt that the show was going to be a little boring. The first songs were not that powerful and the fact that the female singer has a really soft voice made things even more difficult to stay focused on the show and not start daydreaming. But the more the show went on and the more I started to like the songs it started to intensify a little bit! Even the voice of Hayley Mary was getting more powerful and she was dancing a little more. The crowd and the band were also getting less shy so they began interacting more with one another. It was really cool to hear some people in the crowd shouting some ‘’thanks for coming’’ and being really grateful for the bands stop in Montreal. The band seemed to be really happy with the response of the crowd and was genuinely smiling between the songs.
I also believe that the fact that Le divan Orange is a really small venue gave more power to their music, which is pretty calm but still have some energy. I would like to see them when they’re going to be at Osheaga to see how different it is on a bigger stage.
