The Other Side – Tim Chaisson

Blending pop, folk and a little country, Tim Chaisson brings us his latest album entitled “The Other Side”. In this record, the Canadian singer/songwriter delivers 10 songs that, although I find them quite similar sonically, each have a distinct element that makes them stand apart when you listen to the album as a whole. Whether it be the prominent violin solo in “The Otherside” or the upbeat guitar riff in “Speak Easier”, there is something in each song that create their uniqueness. I tend to find folk music relaxing because of its style and I’d say that is true for this album as well, though some songs have a little more beat to them.

Overall, I really enjoyed this album, though it strays from what I mostly listen to. I’d recommend it to anyone looking for some calming music as well as to anyone who likes folk/pop in general.
