Colbie Caillat announces Christmas album

Singer-songwriter Colbie Caillat has announced that she will be releasing a Christmas album on October 23, titled “Christmas in the Sand”.

The album will include five original songs and ten holiday classics. There will be guest appearances by country singer Brad Paisley on “Merry Christmas Baby” and Gavin DeGraw, who recorded what Caillat calls a “hilarious” version of “Baby It’s Cold Outside.”

Caillat spoke to Billboard about how her album reflects her own Christmas traditions of celebrating in warm weather: “It’s always been in the sun and at the beach and a different kind of lifestyle that not everyone has. I wanted to tap into that. It’s fun to write a Christmas song from that perspective. I was like, ‘Not everyone lives in the snow or cold places for Christmas, so why don’t we write some songs for them to be able to relate to what their Christmas is like.”
