Hold on to your hats, ladies and gents, ’cause New Britney’s on a mission!
Pop icon Britney Spears is set to receive the Millenium Award for “outstanding career achievements and influence in the music industry” at this year’s Billboard Music Awards on Sunday, May 22, live from the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas on ABC at 8 PM ET! Previous honorees include Whitney Houston and Beyonce. Legends only — sorry ’bout it.
Not only will she be honored at the ceremony, but to celebrate her longevity in the industry, Britney will also be performing a medley of her chart-topping hits from the last 17 years — and fans can expect the premiere of her new single “Make Me (Oooh),” according to the Las Vegas Sun’s Robin Leach, who is becoming quite the Britney insider.

Britney is no stranger to Billboard. Besides performing “Pretty Girls” at last year’s awards with Iggy Azalea, Brit has won six Billboard Music Awards in the past, and had six albums debut at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart, with 24 Top 40 singles charting on the Billboard Hot 100 (five of which went to No. 1), according to USA Today.
Looks like Britney’s not messing around with the new era, and we are so here for it!
