NEWS: Blink-182, Sum 41 & Yellowcard Releasing Albums Late Summer/Early Fall

In the span of 4 days, three popular 90s/early 2000s rock bands have announced that they will be releasing albums in the next few months.

unnamed (4)Blink-182 were the first to hype up their fans last Friday with the news of their Greatest Hits album being re-released as a vinyl. What is more surprising is the band will also be re-releasing the album in cassette form along with a few other of their albums. (author’s note: as cool and old school as this is, I don’t think I know anyone who still owns a cassette player) The vinyl is set to be released in late August and pre-orders are already available. In the meantime, you can check out some of the already available cassettes. The band is also releasing a new album on July 1st.

Blink’s ‘Greatest Hits’ is compiled from tracks from ‘Cheshire Cat’, ‘Dude Ranch’, ‘Enema of the State’, ‘The Mark, Tom and Travis Show’, ‘Take Off Your Pants And Jacket’, ‘Blink-182’ and more. The album also sports two bonus items, ‘Not Now’ (an outtake from its 2003 self-titled album) and ‘Another Girl Another Planet’

unnamed (1)Sum 41 then announced earlier this week that they will be releasing 13 Voices in October. This is the band’s first album in five years and the first one since the return of original member Dave. The album doesn’t really come as that much of a surprise considering the band had recently signed with Hopeless Records. The band will be heading out on the Warped Tour this summer before the release of the album so those who plan on going may get to hear new tracks!

I am really excited to be releasing an album after everything I’ve been through recently. This new music represents the journey I’ve been on throughout the process of making this record. I had to fall in order to rise, and nothing feels better than to have something you love that you had to really fight for. I can honestly say that 13 Voices saved my life and I cannot wait to share it with all of you.

The band simply dropped the tracklisting on Facebook with the date but we know they’ve got something in the works for a music video soon because they had been asking fans to send in photos. The band is also heading out on Warped Tour this summer along with Sum 41 (and so many more).
