Bastille is the definition of overnight sensation; from relative obscurity, the band took the music world by storm with their hit single, “Pompeii.” Success didn’t end there for them. Rather than becoming a one-hit wonder, they pumped out song after song, ensuring that their album, Bad Blood, would reach number one on the UK charts. From there, Bastille has been soaring to even greater heights, culminating in their newest song, “Good Grief,” off their upcoming album, Wild World.
“Good Grief” is dark, mysterious, and just a little creepy, but for me, doesn’t make a whole lot of sense. There’s plenty of action and oddities, like a Stanley Kubrick film. Check it out, and see if you can figure out what it all means.
