The Icelandic threesome Sigur Rós have released their first new music since 2013 in the beautiful form of “Óveður”. The track also has a stunning video accompanying its release. Directed by Jonas Åkerlund, shot in the small town of Grindavík, it features the Icelandic choreographer Erna Ómarsdóttir.
The video and then mostly Erna’s performance is haunting. You don’t want to watch, but you cannot look away, mesmerized, almost as if you are watching a train wreck. It’s real, it’s raw, it’s graphic, and in a way, very intimate.
