LISTEN: “Char” by “Crystal Castles (+ Album Release Date)

by

Earlier this week, Crystal Castles announced the release of their upcoming album Amnesty I for August 19th via Last Gang Records. The duo also dropped a new single for a song off the album called “Char” [listen to it below]. Amnesty I will be the band’s 4th album and the first one with new vocalist Edith Frances, who joined in the spring of 2015 following the departure of Alice Glass in late 2014. Though this will be her first album with Crystal Castles, she has already featured on four other tracks released since 2015.

Spanning 12 tracks, Amnesty (I) explores the sonic and atmospheric range that we have learned to expect from a Crystal Castles record. From gothic electronic paeans to distorted digital raves, from cinematic synth and noise crescendos to hip hop and trap infused synth pop, it is uniformly compelling, uncompromising and anchored in feeling.

The band also announced tour dates to support their album in September. They will be hitting places all over Europe and North America. Check out the dates below!
