After 14 years together, The Maccabees have decided to split.
The band, comprised of five members – Orlando Weeks, brothers Hugo and Felix White, Rupert Jarvis and Sam Doyle – released a statement via social media and called the decision “incredibly difficult.”
The statement explained that the members will also continue to make music but there are no set plans yet. They also added that there will be farewell celebrations in the future.

Most known for their song “Toothpaste Kisses,” The Maccabees rose to fame in 2007 with the release of their debut album Colour It In. Their next two albums, Wall of Arms and Given to the Wild did markedly well, while their most recent (and likely final) album Marks to Prove It hit number one in the UK and led to the band recently headlining Latitude Festival.
