Morocco-born, Manitoba-based 16-year-old musician Faouzia has just been announced as one of two winners in Canada’s Walk of Fame Emerging Artist Music Mentorship Program.
A panel of judges, including members of Canada’s Walk of Fame senior management team, prominent music industry executives and celebrated artists selected seven finalists from more than 350 hopefuls from coast-to-coast. Supported by RBC valued at more than $100,000, the program provides musicians with the opportunity to grow and develop their skills and industry connections, and take their budding music careers to the next level.
Faouzia will perform her first concert in Toronto alongside all of the finalists on September 24, 2016 for Canada’s Walk of Fame Festival at Canada’s largest intersection, Yonge & Dundas Square.
The budding musician has been performing around the country at various music festivals, including the Winnipeg Folk Festival and the Fête Nationale de la France Celebration, with her original song “Knock On My Door” which has been getting tons of airplay on Winnipeg’s 991 Fresh Radio.
