For such a peppy, upbeat song, Panic! At The Disco’s music video for “LA Devotee” is creepy, unsettling, and oh-so-good. With frenetic, electric imagery, possibly alluding to brainwashing and demons, “LA Devotee” tells a story of kidnapping that hopefully gets resolved in another music video. A young child (Noah Schnapp of Stranger Things, which makes a lot of sense when watching the video) is strapped to a chair and forced to watch rapid shots of explosions and color, and in the end, Brendon Urie menacingly approaches the child, perhaps to conduct more experiments. This video is sure to leave you on the edge of your seat, begging to know the fate of the child, and hopefully, the next music video will deliver.
In related Panic! news, the band just announced that they will be going on tour in early 2017 with supporting acts, Misterwives and Saint Motel. Be sure to check if they will performing at a venue near you; having been to Panic!’s concerts before, I can guarantee it will be a raucously good time.
