John Mellencamp - ‘Life, Death, Love & Freedom’
This eighteenth studio release for legendary singer-songwriter John “Cougar” Mellencamp falls in the midst of his North American summer tour ending on August 2nd in California. He will then head out for Australia with Sheryl Crow in November and December for the first time since 1992. Produced by T-Bone Burnett (Tony Bennett, K.D. Lang, The Wallflowers, O Brother, Where Art Thou?, Walk The Line), this album is rumoured to have a very folk sound and speak mostly of death and loneliness.
Nas - ‘Nas’ (‘Untitled’)
Nas’ ninth studio album was originally titled ‘Nigger’ but is now released under ‘Nas’ after the controversy it created in the entertainment industry. This is his second album under Def Jam. The first official single, “Hero”, featuring Keri Hilson and produced by Polow Da Don was released earlier in June. On June 10th, Nas announced he would refer to the album as ‘Untitled’ instead, but his true fans would know the real title, reffering to its original disputed name. It is currently possible to listen to the full length album online on his official website at http://www.nasindependenceday.com/ and to pre-order it on iTunes and Amazon.
